Out to lunch with Sawyer after his "superhero camp" at the YMCA, the day before I'm off to MT for field camp.

Here is our new puppy Brady, born on June 23rd (9 weeks old). He is a Golden/Lab mix. We've been searching for weeks for just this mix, in a puppy. Funny: we were on our way today to visit a different dog in Lacey, a 1-yr old Golden/Shepherd mix. Just as we were driving through Lakewood, @[1471832598:2048:Heather] looked on Craigslist and saw this puppy, and he was in Lakewood! We called and were the first ones. 45 minutes later he was ours. After weeks of looking, we found the perfect dog right when we happened to be just nearby!

Well, we have officially survived the Science Fair. There were tears, threats, bribes, and swearing. A substantial fraction of the work was done by me, but most of the ideas were his.

The crew of Hravn, shortly before winning the BYC Hale's Pass Dash Race. There were a couple hours there when nobody in the race was exactly "dashing", but the weather cleared up and we had a great time!

Workshop/workbench phase 1: complete! Grid wall mounted, basic workbench built, rolling drawers complete. Phase 1.5: sliding drawers, shelves, and (probably) doors. Phase 2: second bench for long-piece support. Phase 3: center station with modular tool bay. Phase 1 only took me 5 years to finish, but now that I actually have a workbench, I'm cautiously optimistic that the rest will go faster. Oh, and let briefly sing the praises of the Kreg K5 pocket hole system! Got drawers built and assembled, square in no time! First house project, after phase 1.5: garage built-in shelves and cabinets. Got to justify this stuff after all...

When the mom's away, the dad will...take the kids to Boomer's for dinner.

We've been here for less than ten minutes. It's clear and 73 degrees. I'm missing Bellingham friends, but not the weather.

Excited to start the Girls On The Run 5K with Laurel (and 100s of other Bellingham girls + families). Sawyer is running too, if he doesn't melt in the rain.
